About Dean

Dean Rerekura is the lead lastor at The Refuge – Oran Park Baptist Church.

He is married to Denise and they have 3 adult children. Born and bred in Geelong (Victoria), Dean is a seasoned AFL Cats supporter who moved to Sydney to study theology at Sydney Missionary & Bible College (SMBC).

Being led into pastoral ministry, he completed studies at Morling College and has served in various Baptist churches in NSW including East Hills, Belmont, Nowra and Campbelltown.

His mission involvement with people in Myanmar has inspired him and been an integral part of his journey as God has led him and his family to plant The Refuge in Oran Park.

Dean has worked as a civil engineer, taxi driver, pastor, teachers aide, and gardener!

Gathering in different places, with different people, and at different times to listen, learn and do life together to show others a different community and connection

Committed to the hard places and uncharted spaces and reaching every home in Oran Park to bring hope to the hopeless.
